Firefighters Demonstrate How to Cook Turkey Safely for Thanksgiving

Firefighters in Virginia demonstrated how to safely deep-fry a turkey ahead of Thanksgiving, to help people avoid cooking fires as they celebrated the holiday.

This video shows members of Roanoke Fire-EMS carefully placing a turkey in a deep fryer whilst wearing protective equipment.

“Placing the turkey in slowly helps to prevent spills, which can cause fire or serious injury,” the fire department wrote on Twitter. “It is equally important when preparing to fry your turkey to set your deep fryer on a flat/sturdy surface, away from anything flammable.”
