Firefighters Work to Contain Wildfire Burning in Southwestern France
More than 900 firefighters worked to contain the Saumos fire, which burned 3,200 hectares (7,907 acres), in Saumos, in southwestern France, by Tuesday, September 13, according to official reports.
Officials said that 840 people evacuated because of the wildfire.
Video posted by Sapeurs-Pompiers 33, which they said was filmed in Saumos, on Tuesday, shows a plane dropping red fire retardant near the blaze.
