Firefighters Conduct Evacuations as Yoro Braces for Hurricane Iota

Honduran authorities issued evacuation orders on Friday, November 13, in preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Iota, which was due after Hurricane Eta had devastated the country earlier this month, local reports said.

People in areas affected by Eta, such as Sula Valley, were expected to evacuate.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned that Iota is expected to bring “catastrophic winds, a life-threatening storm surge, and rainfall impacts to Central America” as it continued to “rapidly strengthen.” Credit: Bomberos Honduras via Storyful
