Firefighters Clap for Capt. Sir Tom Moore in Nationwide Mark of Appreciation

London firefighters joined members of the British public in clapping for Captain Sir Tom Moore at 6pm on February 3 as a mark of respect following his death.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson encouraged people to participate in the gesture after Moore died from the coronavirus in Bedford Hospital on February 2. The 100-year-old became an international star after he raised almost £33 million for NHS charities by walking laps of his garden.

This footage was posted by the London Fire Brigade in Enfield, who said it shows crews from Edmonton and GreenWatch as they took part in the clap. “We thank you for everything you have achieved,” the post read. Credit: LFB Enfield via Storyful
