The 333-square-mile Caldor Fire reached 29 percent containment in the morning hours of September 3, fire officials reported.
Footage released by the Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit shows firefighters battling the flames overnight near California’s Christmas Valley.
While lighter winds and cooler temperatures helped firefighters in the last few days, Cal Fire said, officials expected wind gusts up to 20 mph and exceptionally dry fuel conditions for Friday, September 3.
