Firefighters Battle Auburn Fire Burning Trees North of Rapid City

Fire personnel battled the 500-acre Auburn Fire north of Rapid City, which was 25 percent contained as of the morning of Tuesday, October 5.

Great Plains Fire Information said on Tuesday morning that firefighters had secured the entire fire perimeter and would continue to strengthen the containment lines throughout the day.

Evacuation orders for residents in affected areas remained in place due to the fire.
