Fire Tears Through Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park
A fire tore through Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town, South Africa, on April 18.
The park’s fire manager, Philip Prins, said three different fires were burning in the park on Sunday night. He said the blaze in the Devils Peak-High Cape area of the park was deliberately started.
In video filmed by Amina Souma, the fire can be seen raging from a distance.
Fire and rescue services responded to a vegetation fire earlier on Sunday that reached the University of Cape Town. Students were evacuated and parts of the university’s library were gutted. Credit: Amina Souma via Storyful
