A violent house fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building on rue Bonnafous in the 4th arrondissement of Lyon.
The fire started at 8 p.m. then spread to the fifth and top floor, then to the roof.
More than 60 firefighters came to battle the fire, but the access is very complicated to carry out their intervention.
Local residents from four different buildings were evacuated, and two people were taken to the Edouard Herriot hospital, as they were slightly intoxicated.
At 11:45 p.m. the fire was still not completely under control. The building ravaged by the flames later collapsed.
