Fire Breaks Out at Atlanta Krispy Kreme Owned by Shaquille O'Neal

A fire caused significant damage to a landmark Atlanta Krispy Kreme store owned by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal in the early hours of February 10, local news reports said.

This footage, by David Ohmann, shows the fire raging and emergency services at the scene on Ponce De Leon Avenue.

According to Atlanta’s WXIA-TV, fire crews were called to the scene at 12:30 am. The outlet said the fire, which engulfed the back of the building, caused heavy damage but crews were able to save much of the structure.

The location opened more than 60 years ago and “was a fixture in the fabric of Atlanta life,” WXIA said.

In a post on Instagram, O’Neal, who purchased the store in 2016, said “we will be back stronger than ever.”

Channel 2 Action News reported there were no injuries and all employees evacuated the store to safety.
