KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — The Finnish skier who suffered a frozen penis at the Winter Olympics 2022 has made a spectacular comeback one year on from the ordeal.

Remi Lindholm hit the headlines with his horrendous misfortune in Beijing last year but his performances on the ice are now doing the talking once again.

Fully thawed from his frozen troubles, Lindholm is enjoying a hot streak and secured a stunning victory at the 15km skiing championship in Tampere, Finland last month, the Daily Star reported.

And the 25-year-old can now put the “unbearable” trauma of last year behind him as he reigned supreme in a 169-strong field in the intermediate event.

“A day to remember,” said Lindholm on Instagram in a post commemorating his 20.8-second victory.

“Thank you so much to everyone for the great messages, for the encouragement at the track and for living in front of the TV (in reference to his friends celebrating his win from home).”

Lindholm’s injury transcended the sport last year when stunned fans learned that he had frozen his genitals mid-race during a 50-kilometre cross-country.

He was a man simply nobody envied as his sensitive area froze amid brutal temperatures that dropped below -17 degrees Celcius in the Chinese capital.
