'The Voice' Season 19 is Premiering Tonight and We're So Excited

From Country Living

After a crazy Season 18, during which producers and contestants had to navigate remote filming amidst the height of the coronavirus pandemic, The Voice crowned winner Todd Tilghman earlier this year.

Of course, fans were immediately eager for the next crew of contestants to grace their televisions. Season 19 was originally set to air in early September, but thanks to COVID-related setbacks, it got pushed to mid-October, making longtime coach Blake Shelton wonder if it was even going to premiere in the long run.

"Man, but the waves of bad news that keep coming out of California, especially Southern California," Blake told SiriusXM the Highway in late July. "It’s on my calendar still, but every day seems like a new world we wake up in. I still hope we can get it in and I know they created a safe situation for us, but we will see what happens."

Thankfully, blind auditions have been in full swing since then. While they started in early August, there’s been little shared from BTS, so it’s difficult to say what fans should expect, except a brand new "virtual audience" that's never been done on the show before. If last season was any indicator, we’re certainly in for a treat—especially since now, in addition to the show’s talent, our favorite swoon-worthy celeb couple, Blake and Gwen Stefani, are back to coaching this season.

When does The Voice premiere?

We have good news: The season 19 premiere date has finally been revealed! On Thursday, August 27, the show’s official Twitter account shared the exciting announcement.

“This deserves a four chair turn! #TheVoice returns October 19 on @NBC,” the tweet read. The new season will premiere on Monday, October 19. And while this is just about all we know at the moment, we're sure the episodes will be a bright spot during our weeknight viewing schedules!

Who are the coaches for Season 19?

While Gwen Stefani took a break last season to allow newbie coach Nick Jonas a chance to make his mark on the show, Gwen will be returning to her chair this October. She'll be joined by her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, and of course, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. This dream team has us so excited to witness (and laugh at) more of their trademark shenanigans!

Who are the mentors?

As evidenced by last season's killer lineup of mentors, which included the Jonas Brothers, Ella Mai, Dua Lipa, and Bebe Rexha, The Voice doesn't mess around when it comes to bring in some star power to help the contestants succeed. It will be hard to top the Season 18 Mega Mentor, James Taylor, but we're confident this season's group will be just as impressive, if not more! NBC hasn't released any clues about this season's mentors quite yet, but we'll update this page as soon as we know more.
