Filmmaker Tim Burton to hold KL masterclass during his first Malaysian visit on March 21

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — Malaysians will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join American filmmaker Tim Burton at his first masterclass in Kuala Lumpur.

Tim Burton’s Masterclass will be held on the same day as the launch of The World of Tim Burton exhibition opening on March 21.

Organised by Toybox Projects, it will take place in Exhibition Hall 3, Level 5, Pink Zone, Pavilion Bukit Jalil at 2pm.

The man behind classic films such as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and the recent Netflix series Wednesday will give an insight into his creative process and career journey.

National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) Chairman Datuk Kamil Othman will be a special guest moderator.

Burton and Kamil hope to bring knowledge to aspiring creatives in the local film and art industry to produce quality artwork and media for the international stage.

Tickets to the masterclass start at RM338 for adults and RM238 for students. Ticket buyers will receive a digital certificate and a 10 per cent ticket discount to The World of Tim Burton.

100 VIP The World of Tim Burton ticket buyers will also stand a chance to enter a limited book-signing session where they will get the chance to meet Burton himself.

VIP ticket buyers will also receive The Art of Tim Burton book, merchandise, and multiple entry season passes.

The World of Tim Burton pop-up museum will be opening from March 21 to July 30.
