Will Ferrell Spotted Filming Outside Walmart in Indiana
Hollywood actor Will Ferrell surprised shoppers as he filmed scenes for an upcoming project at Walmart parking lot in Beech Grove, Indiana, on Sunday, March 5.
Tasha Ramey, who shot this footage and took several photos with Ferrell, told Storyful that she and her family first thought the film crew was for shooting for ‘On Patrol,’ a reality show about law enforcement which happens to follow the police department in Beech Grove. However, when they pulled up closer, they saw some “high-end” filming equipment, along with various other items such as camping chairs and a cooler, Ramey said.
Ramey said they were waiting in their vehicle as the crew filmed two people loading the car and driving away. Once the crew signaled the scene was over, the car circled back and Ferrell emerged from the vehicle.
At that point, Ramey parked the car and waited as her fiancé, her 14-year-old son, and her nine-year-old daughter went over to approach Ferrell.
Moments later, her fiancé waved her over. Ramey said her son was astonished to see Ferrell, while her daughter recognized him as “Buddy”, the character he played in the movie Elf, and “stood in awe and shyness.”
“He laughed with us and made jokes, and even talked to my [older 17-year-old] son on FaceTime, asking how I was able to convince him to clean his room,” she said. “He was so incredibly kind, down-to-earth, never rushed anyone or any conversation. He was just nothing short of amazing.”
According to local reports, Ferrell was in town working on a “cross-country documentary” and just happened to stop at this particular Walmart.
