Video transcript

SEANA SMITH: We want to get to some breaking news that we're just getting. The results of a vote here from the FDA advisory panel on whether or not to approve booster shots. Anjalee Khemlani has that for us.

ANJALEE KHEMLANI: Hey, Seana, thanks. Yeah, we just got word that in that vote the 18 members that were set to vote on that a majority of them did vote against the booster shot for Pfizer for 16 and older. However, we're listening to the ongoing meeting right now. And they are looking into possibly narrowing the question to include individuals that are either 50 or older or 60 or older. It looks like there might even be a second vote.

Dr. Peter Marks of the FDA did open that opportunity just a couple of minutes ago noting that based on the comments from advisory panel members it seemed like they were largely uncomfortable with a broad strokes vote to open booster shots for the American population. So that's where things stand right now. There is possibly going to be another vote before the end of this meeting today.

SEANA SMITH: All right, Anjalee Khemlani, thanks so much. And we just had the vaccine makers up on the screen there. Shares of a name like Pfizer off just around 1 and 1/2%, Moderna stock off just over 4%.
