FBI Twist: Lisette Olivera Exiting as Series Regular Ahead of On-Screen Debut
Lisette Olivera’s stint as a new FBI series regular appears to have been short-lived.
Olivera, who in August joined the CBS procedural as a new BAU agent for Season 7, is departing the series after filming only a handful of episodes, TVLine has confirmed.

The actress has not yet made her on-screen debut on FBI, but according to our sister site Deadline (which first reported Olivera’s exit), she will first appear in Episode 4 or 5, and her remaining installments are expected to air as planned. (Episode 3, the show’s most recent outing, aired on Oct. 29.)
Olivera is (briefly) joining FBI as Syd Ortiz, a Behavioral Analysis Unit agent who gets rotated onto Jubal’s (Jeremy Sisto) team. Her casting marked FBI‘s first addition of a series regular in four years; she would have filled a void left by Katherine Renee Kane, whose Special Agent Tiffany Wallace left the team in the Season 7 premiere. Stuart Scola (John Boyd) has been without a partner since the end of that episode, though in Week 2, he got a temporary partner who elected not to stick around — and it appears Syd’s tenure on the team won’t be long, either.
In addition to her upcoming FBI episodes, Olivera’s credits include Disney+’s one-and-done National Treasure series and the web series Total Eclipse.
New episodes of FBI air Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS. How do you feel about this latest casting shake-up?
