Fatal gas blast strikes Russian apartment block

The explosion in the city, which is around 30 miles east of Moscow, has killed a man and a woman and injured five others.

Russian news agencies have also reported that two children are among the injured.

Rescue workers found walls had collapsed on three of the building's floors, the local emergencies ministry said.

Five of the block's 73 apartments have been damaged in the blast and 173 residents have been evacuated.
