Family and Livestock Rescued From Flooding in South Kansas
Firefighters rescued a family and its livestock from a Mulvane, Kansas, home amid flooding on June 1, the Mulvane Fire Department said.
According to the statement, the firefighters rescued two adults, three children, six chickens, 14 goats, and a horse. A team from Derby Fire and Rescue joined the effort, according to local officials. This footage was published by Derby Fire and Rescue, and shows firefighters attempting to round up the last of the goats.
The National Weather Service (NWS) had forecast heavy rainfall in the area, warning residents to avoid driving “across water covered roadways.”
