Family Guy producer Kirker Butler and Clerks producer Scott Mosier are joining forces to bring us a brand new show which has been described as "Marriage Story mixed with Rick and Morty".
Deadline reports that CBS All Access is developing The Multivorce, an adult animated comedy which draws together the relationship drama themes of Netflix movie Marriage Story and the madcap animated adventures you see in the likes of Rick and Morty.
The show, which will be made up of half hour episodes, will introduce us to the Gundersons, a seemingly normal American family who are dealing with the "complicated realities of divorce".
But rather than the three Gunderson kids having to spend their weekends at a bachelor apartment, they actually "spend every other weekend with their warrior queen mother in her very exciting (and often very dangerous) kingdom somewhere in the Multivorce".
The show will be executive-produced by Butler, who has also worked on The Cleveland Show and The Neighbors, and Mosier, whose other credits include Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will also executive produce the show.
CBS All Access is also behind Star Trek animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks which is set on the service decks of lesser-known Starfleet cruiser U.S.S. Cerritos in the year 2380 and features characters who are less obviously heroic than your typical Star Trek cast.
Lower Decks creator Mike McMahan has revealed that he was given approval to use some "legacy" characters in his show, saying, "We have gotten to have a little bit of where are they now sort of vibe through a Lower Decks lens".
