Fallen Tree Blocks Highway as Atmospheric River Batters California

An atmospheric river caused trees in Northern California to fall and block roads, on Tuesday, March 14, officials reported.

The heavy rain brought by the atmospheric river had eased by Tuesday afternoon, but strong winds would make it easy for trees to fall, the National Weather Service said. San Mateo County officials said they had received multiple reports of downed trees and power lines.
