PUTRAJAYA, Aug 29 — Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil today said the new chief executive officer (CEO) for Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) might be announced tomorrow.

The Lembah Pantai MP said DNB is scheduled to hold an important meeting tomorrow, after which a few announcements are expected to be made, including who will be its new CEO.

“DNB will have an important meeting tomorrow, and before the end of the day, there might be some announcements.

“The announcements will touch on the company’s leadership, including a new DNB CEO,” he told reporters after launching the 5G Rahmah Package and the Civil Servant Rahmah Postpaid Package.

In March, Fahmi said the Finance Ministry will be the one to decide who is going to fill the position.

The position has been vacant since March 11 after its then CEO Ralph Marshall’s two-year contract ended on that day and was not extended by the government.

Marshall was appointed as CEO of DNB on March 1, 2021, after the Ministry of Finance announced DNB as a government special purpose company (SPV) to develop and maintain the 5G network through a single wholesale network (SWN) model.

Marshall is an industry veteran and has served in the highest positions of Astro and Maxis.
