KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 (Bernama) -- Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) senior vice-president Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has been re-appointed as the Minister of Works in Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s new cabinet line-up.
Fadillah, 57, who is also Petra Jaya Member of Parliament, held the position when the Barisan Nasional (BN) government administered the country from 2013 to 2018.
He was also appointed as the Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister in 2008.
The 1,089-kilometre Pan Borneo Highway project through Sarawak and Sabah, was implemented in 2015, when he helmed the Ministry of Works.
Fadillah, who is also the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip, was seen as continuing the legacy of his late father, Yusof Merais, who was an activist during the era of the anti-handing over of Sarawak to the British colonialists in 1946.

His struggle in championing the people started when he worked as a lawyer after obtaining his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Malaya in 1986 and continuing it when he ventured into politics as a PBB member in 1989.
The father of five children contested for the first time in the Petra Jaya Parliamentary constituency in the 2004 General Elections (GE) and defended the seat in 2008, 2013 and 2018.
Fadillah had headed a Malaysian Parliament delegation to the United Nations General Assembly and was appointed as the Public Institution (Women and Gender Caucus) chairman.
