Eyewitness Video Captures Deadly Fire Burning at Cambodian Hotel and Casino

Eyewitness footage captured the moment a deadly fire ripped through a hotel and casino on the Thai border in western Cambodia, late on December 28 and into the early hours of December 29.

Footage streamed live to Facebook by Samnang En shows the blaze at the Grand Diamond City hotel and casino in Poipet.

According to a Thai police captain at the scene, hundreds of people were trapped after the fire broke out, and at least eight people are known to have died.

Cambodian outlet Fresh News said the blaze broke out at 11:30 pm on Wednesday. The outlet placed the death toll at 10, citing a preliminary police report. Credit: Samnang En via Storyful
