KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 — A streak of light in the sky spotted by Johor Bahru residents early yesterday morning, is a rare natural occurrence.

The natural phenomenon known as a light pillar, appeared at around 6am, baffling many who took to social media to share their creative theories as to what it may have been reported MyNewsHub.

One suggested the Dark Lord Sauron from The Lord of the Rings may have relocated his tower near the neighbourhood.

Beware, Sauron is watching,” he commented.

Another theorised that someone from the area could have transformed into Ultraman.

Another joked that Scarlet Witch from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was looking for a new dimension to terrorise.

Light pillars are an atmospheric optical phenomenon that happens when ice crystals falling from the air, reflect light sources from the sun or street lights from the ground.

They usually form in cold weather, and in some cases, the ice crystals can be suspended near the ground according to the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).

The phenomenon was last seen in Malaysia on January 2023 at coastal areas near Kunak, Sabah at 8pm as reported by The Daily Express.
