Experts rescue 7-foot rat snake that swallowed child's clothing

Experts in eastern India rescued a 7-foot rat snake on Saturday (July 17) that was struggling to breathe after swallowing a child's clothing. Locals from the Korba district of Chhattisgarh spotted the large snake darting frantically around their home. Snake rescuer Jitendra Sarthi caught the stricken reptile and took it to a veterinary clinic where Dr Manmohan Rathore carefully removed the cloth from the snake's mouth. "If the cloth had not been removed, the snake would have died," said Sarthi.
