Real Housewives of Potomac is back for season 5 and kicked things off with the unthinkable: Gizelle Bryant has become friends with Monique Samuels!
Original star Gizelle cashed with Monique pretty much from the minute the latter made her debut in season 2, but they've patched things and are currently enjoying each other's company.
On-air anyway. The pair are back to trading insults with each other on Twitter, and a confrontation set to air later in the season seems to be the reason why.
Still, we like to focus on the positive, and called Gizelle up to talk about her (short-lived) friendship with Monique.
"She's been around for four years now, and I'm just kinda sick of everyone thinking there's this huge obstacle we couldn't get past," she told Digital Spy exclusively.
"You don't see it but at Candiace's 1-year unmarried party, I said to her, 'Hey girl, why don't we have lunch?' Just to like clear the table and discuss any issues that might be lingering.
"And we did that and it was great and I felt like we were finally at a place where we could just get together... girls just wanna laugh. I was loving where we were."
Responding to Cadiace tweeting their friendship was a calculated move, Gizelle said: "I was genuinely happy that we had gotten to a place where we could be friends. That's how I felt. As far as Monique and her feelings, I can't speak to that. But for me, I was like, 'let's go down the road with a clean slate and be girl friends.'"
Of course, Gizelle and Monique will have that falling out, while the latter is also going to have a major altercation with Candiace. On top of that, Gizelle is no longer speaking to Karen Huger either, but that's another story.
