Ex television boss on where Dyson report leaves the BBC

Former ITN chief executive and Ofcom regulator Stewart Purvis has said that there is “no doubt that there could be an overreaction from the government” and maybe even “internally by the BBC". It comes after some ministers have suggested that the government may take further action in the wake of the report by Lord Dyson into the BBC’s handling of the Princess Diana Panorama interview in 1995.
