Ex-rock musician Theobald Lengyel a person of interest in woman's disappearance, say police in California

A former rock musician has been named by police in California as a person of interest over a missing 61-year-old woman.

Theobald Lengyel - also known as Mylo Stone - was named by El Cerrito Police Department concerning the disappearance of Alice 'Alyx' Kamakaokalani Herrmann, who officers said is his girlfriend and was last seen at the beginning of the month.

The 54-year-old retired saxophonist is a former member of the experimental American rock band, Mr Bungle, which formed in California in the mid-1980s.

In a statement, police said Ms Herrmann, of Capitola, California, was last seen in Santa Cruz on 3 December.

She was reported missing on 12 December after family members said they had not heard from her for more than a week.

Her red Toyota Highlander vehicle was found parked in front of Mr Lengyel's home in El Cerrito, police said.

Officers added Mr Lengyel is "known to have travelled by vehicle" from El Cerrito to Portland, Oregon.

"Based on his actions, Theo Lengyel is a person of interest in Alice Herrmann's disappearance and has not cooperated with the police investigation," police added.

Detectives from Capitola and Portland are working together on the case and are trying to find out more information about the couple's movements from 3 December.
