Skai Jackson, former child star of Disney Channel’s Jessie and Bunk’d, is expecting her first child following her arrest for domestic battery in August, People confirmed.

Jackson, 22, told the magazine, “I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life, embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects,” and added, “My heart is so full!” The actress will share the child with her boyfriend, who she has not identified publicly.

Jackson last made headlines when she was reported to have shoved her boyfriend at Universal CityWalk, according to TMZ, at which point the site revealed that Jackson told police that she was pregnant and the couple was engaged.

After security footage revealed that Jackson had indeed pushed her partner, she was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery. Her confirmation of the pregnancy in People is the first time the star confirmed to the media that she was expecting a baby.

Jackson hasn’t done much on-screen work since her seven-year stint at the Disney Channel ended in 2018. She’s worked as a voice actress and will appear in the feature film The Man in the White Van, to be released in December.

In addition to the debacle earlier this year at Universal Studios, Jackson was also the subject of internet chatter in 2020, when she filed and then dropped a restraining order against rapper and social media personality Bhad Barbie, following an internet feud.
