Everything we know about Shawn Mendes’ Netflix documentary In Wonder

From Cosmopolitan

Not content with conquering our playlists and hearts, Shawn Mendes is now taking over Netflix too with his new documentary In Wonder. Yep, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter’s Netflix debut has arrived and, from what we’ve seen so far – we’re talking behind-the-scenes tour footage, secret moments with girlfriend Camila Cabello and Shawn reading extracts from his diary – it looks pretty darn Wonderful. Here’s everything we know…

What’s In Wonder about?

The life and times of Shawn Mendes. Similar to Taylor Swift’s Miss Americana and Gaga: Five Foot Two before it, the feature-length Netflix documentary takes us behind the curtain of the pop star's world. It’s packed with intimate conversations as Shawn opens up about his musical journey and discusses the physical and emotional demands of his rise to fame. Camila features too – expect at-home footage, the couple on stage together and Shawn getting very real about his feelings for his girlfriend of over a year. Cute.

Is there a trailer for In Wonder?

Yes! But expect your levels of impatience for the actual thing to increase by approximately 103% after watching it. Complete with videos of the artist as a baby, Wonder playing in the background (what else?) and, er, Shawn in the shower (true story), it's a work of art all by itself, tbh. In it, Shawn explains, "This isn't a story about a famous musician, it's a story about a guy growing up." He shared the trailer on Instagram, saying, “Thank you all so much for being on this journey with me.” Honestly not a problem, Shawn.

When can I watch In Wonder please?

In Wonder hits Netflix on Monday 23rd November – the week before Shawn's fourth studio album, Wonder, is released, on Friday 4th December. With both his documentary and his new album coming out during the festive period, we’re expecting to feel pretty Shawn-obsessed in the run-up to 25th December. Have ourselves a Mendes little Christmas now? Don't mind if we do.
