Manifest spoilers follow.

Described as a cross between Lost and The Leftovers, NBC's Manifest continues to draw in die-hard fans each week, but the show's future remains up in the air (so to speak).

Manifest season two has averaged out at roughly 3.95 million viewers so far, according to TVSeriesFinale.com, which represents a drop of 39% in viewership compared to season one.

Will NBC hear the fans calling and renew the show for a third season or will Manifest do the opposite of its namesake and fade away completely? While we wait for NBC to make that call, here's everything you need to know about Manifest season three.

Manifest hasn't been renewed for a third season just yet, but if that does happen, don't expect to see it air until 2021 at the earliest.

The show first debuted back in September 2018 and season two premiered on January 6, 2020, so it's possible that a potential third season could arrive sooner rather than later next year.

Assuming that everyone survives Manifest season two, here's who could return in a third instalment:

  • Melissa Roxburgh as Michaela Stone

  • Josh Dallas as Ben Stone

  • Athena Karkanis as Grace Stone

  • J. R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez

  • Luna Blaise as Olive Stone, Ben and Grace's daughter, Michaela's niece, and Cal's twin sister

  • Jack Messina as Cal Stone, Ben and Grace's son, Michaela's nephew and Olive's twin brother

  • Parveen Kaur as Saanvi Bahl

Matt Long was promoted to the central cast in season two, so it's likely that his role as Zeke Langdon will continue in a third season as well.

Season two is currently airing right now, so predictions about Manifest's future are hazy at best.

However, fans can definitely expect to see more of the show's mythology unravel in new seasons, explaining how the various symbols are connected to the "death date".

TV Fanatic theorises that the survivors are destined to save passengers from another plane crash, and this could play out in a potential third season, assuming of course that NBC decides to renew Manifest in the first place.
