The Monument Fire forced evacuation orders for portions of Hayfork, California, on September 9, according to officials.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office urged residents in the evacuation zones to leave the area immediately.
As of the afternoon of September 9, the fire had spread to 198,829 acres (approximately 311 square miles) and was at 45 percent containment, officials reported.
