New Evacuations Ordered as Dixie Fire Grows Across Plumas County, California

New evacuation orders were issued for parts of Plumas County, California, as the Dixie fire continued to burn. As of Wednesday, August 4, the blaze reached 428 square miles and was 35 percent contained , according to fire officials.

The fire had destroyed 45 structures, 22 minor structures, and damaged five others as of Wednesday, fire officials said.

This dramatic footage released by Plumas County Search and Rescue shows large flames scorching trees along Highway 89.
