Evacuations Ordered as Crews Battle Wildfire Near Castlegar, British Columbia

A wildfire burning southwest of Castlegar, British Columbia, prompted evacuation orders across parts of the city during the afternoon on Thursday, July 1.

According to the Castlegar Emergency Operations Centre, the fire within city limits was contained as of 2:30 pm, the City of Castlegar said.
