Evacuation Areas Downgraded Near Kruger Rock Fire in Estes Park, Colorado

The Kruger Rock fire burning near Estes Park in Colorado reached 140 acres and 15 percent containment on the morning of Wednesday, November 17, when fire officials downgraded evacuation orders for parts of Larimer County.

This nighttime footage filmed by Estes Park resident Cheri Correll Hagnauer shows winds fanning flames along Kruger Rock. “Lots of hotspots, wind still very strong,” she wrote in a caption. “Our house is over to the right about half a mile away.” Hagnauer said she captured the video at around 5:30 pm on November 16.

Over 150 personnel continued to battle the fire as crews planned to take advantage of cooler temperature and lighter winds on Wednesday, according to local officials. Credit: Cheri Correll Hagnauer via Storyful
