A confrontation between criminal gangs at a beach in Quintana Roo, Mexico, left two drug dealers dead as visitors at nearby hotels were ordered to take shelter, local media reported.

One tourist received medical attention for a “minor” injury, media reported.

This footage filmed by visitor Mike Sington shows guests returning to the hotel. “Guests being escorted back to rooms now in small groups based on building number,” he wrote in a tweet. “They keep telling us to stay quiet.”

According to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office, the conflict occurred at a beach in Petempich Bay. The area is a popular resort city and was occupied with tourists at the time of the incident.
