Manchester United will go big this summer to sign a new striker with Erik ten Hag shortlisting three huge names, Arsenal are ready to rival Liverpool for a hugely-talented Rennes star, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Southampton plan to shatter their club-record on a major Belgian talent.

TEN HAG DRAWS UP THREE-MAN DREAM STRIKER WISHLIST

Manchester United will spend the bulk of their summer budget on a new striker, with a report claiming Erik ten Hag has three men on his wishlist.

The Red Devils have invested heavily to get the Ten Hag regime up and running. Indeed, they allowed the Dutchman to invest around £216m over the summer with six new players arriving. And while one of those has departed already in Martin Dubravka, he’s already been replaced with Jack Butland arriving last week.

Now plans are underway to take United to the next level.

And part of their immediate and long-term strategy revolves around the striker department.

To that end, Ten Hag has made clear his wish to strengthen his attack this month in light of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

But with a loan deal the most likely scenario now, United are preparing for a blockbuster assault to sign one of three names.

Per ESPN, the three men at the top of their wishlist are Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko.

Of the trio, it seems Kane looks the most ambitious, but possibly the most obtainable too. His deal at Tottenham is currently due to expire in summer 2024 – and failure to renew by the summer will leave Spurs with a problem.

And while he will potentially still cost over £100m, Paul Merson has explained why a deal is definitely there to be done.

Napoli striker Osimhen would also likely cost a fee in the region of £100m. A natural goalscorer, he has netted 77 in 168 career appearances.

Man Utd tie up Wout Weghorst signing

Sesko, meanwhile, is another option, despite the Slovenian already agreeing a £20m move from Salzburg to sister club Leipzig.

It’s claimed the Bundesliga side could immediately cash in without ever actually playing the star for a fee of around £70m.

United, meanwhile, will tide themselves over until the summer by finalising a deal for Wout Weghorst.

The Burnley man has been on loan in Turkey with Besiktas. But United are willing to pay up to bring him to Old Trafford in a temporary deal instead.

Per Algemeen Dagblad, the ‘wonderful Weghorst’ has virtually secured his move to Old Trafford. They claim his move will likely be finalised in the coming days once the Turkish side have signed his replacement.

The Netherlands newspaper are also tipping the 6ft 6in striker to have a sizeable impact at Manchester United.

They write: ‘His transfer to United is miraculous in many ways. Even in England, people are surprised to see a striker who failed in Burnley suddenly appear at Old Trafford. But the chance that Weghorst’s period at United will pass unseen is very small’.

Concluding their article, AD claims the Dutchman, 30, is ‘almost certainly’ the new striker of Manchester United.
