Euro Paper Talk: Ten Hag told Man Utd can seal £105.7m move for rapid goal machine with former Liverpool target also wanted; Arsenal ready monster bid for Atalanta star
Manchester United can sign a prolific striker this summer if they meet a huge asking price, while a former Liverpool target is also on their wanted list, Arsenal are ready to move for an Atalanta star, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Neymar has given Chelsea an answer.
MAN UTD TARGET OSIMHEN TOLD HE CAN LEAVE NAPOLI THIS SUMMER
Manchester United have been seemingly been given permission to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to reports.
United boss Erik ten Hag is looking to add more firepower to his ranks this summer. As such, he will make the capture of a new big-name striker his No 1 focus this summer.
And the man at the top of his wanted list, Osimhen, now looks likely to depart Napoli this summer.
But now, according to Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia, Napoli are ready to cash in on their prized asset.
Any deal, however, will not come cheap. And Bargiggia reports that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will start the bidding at a whopping £105.7m (€120m).
However, it seems the Red Devils are not alone in the pursuit with PSG also emerging as contenders.
“For Osimhen, at the moment, there are two concrete options: PSG and Manchester United. For now, they are the two clubs most interested in the player,” Bargiggia told the Il Processo TV show, as relayed by Area Napoli.
“We are still in February and anything can still happen. I think that a real auction could be unleashed on the Nigerian in the coming months. The player’s valuation stands at €120m. But it could increase again if he continues to do so well. The chances are high that he’ll leave.”
Osimhen has 85 goals in 175 career appearances.
Man Utd want Nabil Fekir to join Osimhen
In addition to Osimhen, Manchester United boss Ten Hag also reportedly wants Nabil Fekir to sign up this summer.
Per reports in the Spanish media, Ten Hag sees the Frenchman as the perfect addition to his squad. And with the club hoping to mount a title push next season, he is seen as ideal cover and competition for Bruno Fernandes.
The 29-year-old is contracted to Real Betis until summer 2026 and is regarded as one of their best players. However, he is reportedly open to playing in the Premier League, seeing the competition as the one that got away so far.
That was after Fekir – capped 25 times by France – saw a summer 2018 move to Liverpool collapse due to an issue with a medical.
Seen at the time as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who had moved to Barcelona some six months earlier, Liverpool had second thoughts after a medical illustrated a potential weakness in his knees.
Since then, though, the former Lyon man has played 137 times for Betis, scoring 28 times.
They are reportedly willing to cash in on him though this summer. And per reports, he would command a fee of around £26.4m (€30m) – a fee easily within United’s reach.
