Manchester United have switched striker targets with the prolific frontman to follow two goalkeeper deals, Leeds are lining up a summer move for a £22m-rated No 10, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Manchester City are chasing two major signings.

GONCALO RAMOS MOVE TO MAN UTD PUSHING FORWARDS

Manchester United are pushing strongly forwards with a deal to sign Goncalo Ramos this summer, according to a report.

United boss Erik ten Hag will be given the funds to further strengthen his squad this summer. And a report on Monday morning suggests he wants to make three marquee signings to push his side towards a push for title glory.

As a result, the United boss reportedly plans to sign a new big-name striker, a midfielder and a right-back.

As far as a striker goes, Manchester United are being strongly linked with moves for Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen.

However, the Nigerian will cost a deal in the region of £120m (€135m) – and Napoli president Aurlio de Laurentiis is a notoriously-tricky customer to deal with.

To that end, the difficulties in persuading Napoli to sell will see United instead push to sign Ramos instead.

At just 21 years of age, A Bola claims Ten Hag has been won over by the Benfica striker’s abilities.

And there is a growing feeling at Old Trafford that a deal for Ramos will prove easier to get over the line this summer.

Ramos has a huge £106.3m (€120m) exit clause in his deal at Benfica. However, A Bola claims United believe they can secure his signing for less than that, or, at the worst, arrange a far more pleasing payment plan around the deal.

And the report claims a summer move for Ramos now seems ‘inevitable’ with Ten Hag pulling out all the stops to land his signing.

Ramos has 21 goals and eight assists for Benfica from 33 appearances in all competitions this season.

Man Utd want Ramos to follow two goalkeeper deals

United’s first piece of business this summer, however, will be to tie David De Gea to a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 32-year-old is now in the final four months of his contract and is eligible to leave as a free agent this summer.

United, though, do hold the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

However, the two parties have been in talks over an extension for some time now.

And according to the Daily Telegraph, De Gea has now agreed to prolong his stay with United. That deal will see De Gea agree a reduction on his current £375,000 a week package.

However, while Ten Hag is content to extend De Gea’s stay, he wants to bring in a new, top-line goalkeeper to challenge his place as No 1.

And reports in Italy claim United are also hot on the trail for Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez.

The World Cup winner is open to leaving Villa Park this summer, having made clear his wish to play Champions League football.

Villa, though, will reportedly demand a fee in the region of £35m for the 30-year-old.

And while that seems a steep price for United to spend on a potential back-up, Ten Hag seemingly believes his presence can inspire both keepers to greater heights.

As the younger man, Martinez may well even usurp De Gea as United’s No 1 in time.
