France dispatched Germany 1-0 in its first game of the tournament, thanks to an own goal. The score could have been 3-0, but France had two goals disallowed in the second half due to offsides. Hungary played well against Portugal for much of the game but fell apart late in a 3-0 loss. The Hungarians’ odds are sky-high here, but that doesn’t reflect the quality of the team. They just have a really bad draw.

This line is a head-scratcher. Did you see enough from Germany — and not enough from Portugal throughout much of its match against Hungary — to consider the Germans the clear favorite in this one? It says a lot that the tie has the same odds as a Portugal win. But a tie leaves Germany needing a win against Hungary on the final day of the group stage to advance to the knockout rounds. A Portugal win means that Germany has to win and make up a goal difference against Hungary too.

Spain dominated possession against Sweden but wasted a ton of chances in front of goal in a 0-0 draw. Poland was tied 1-1 with Slovakia when it went down to 10 men and ended up losing 2-1. Both teams have issues up front. Spain’s Alvaro Morata has never developed into a consistent goal threat and Poland’s Robert Lewandowski is one of the best finishers in the world … but he doesn’t have much help. Seize Spain having lower odds to win this game than France over Hungary.
