EU Criticizes Belarus as Migrants Remain Camped at Polish Border

European Council President Charles Michel has said the EU “will not accept any attempt to instrumentalize migrants,” as a group of people attempting to enter the EU remained camped out at the Polish-Belarus border on November 9.

In a statement on Twitter, Michel said “using vulnerable migrants as part of a hybrid attack is beyond contempt,” as EU leaders have accused Belarus of encouraging migrants to cross its border for political gain, which Belarus has denied.

Migrants camped overnight Monday and remained on the Belarusian side of the border near the Polish village of Kuznica on Tuesday.
