Ethan Hawke-Led Drama From Reservation Dogs Showrunner Ordered to Series at FX

Ethan Hawke must’ve enjoyed his guest spot on Reservation Dogs: The Oscar-nominated actor will star in a new drama, written and directed by Reservation Dogs co-creator Sterlin Harjo, which just earned a series order at FX, our sister site Variety reports.

The drama, which is titled The Sensitive Kind, is described as a “Tulsa noir” and will star Hawke as “a guy who knows too much.” A pilot was ordered in February, with a supporting cast that includes Keith David, Siena East, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Shepherd, Tracy Letts, Kyle MacLachlan and Macon Blair.

Hawke guest-starred in the penultimate episode of Reservation Dogs’ third and final season as Rick, the absentee father of Devery Jacobs’ Elora. Harjo co-created and served as showrunner on Reservation Dogs, an FX production which wrapped up a critically acclaimed run on Hulu last year.

Hawke is best known for his work in movies like Before Sunrise, Reality Bites and Dead Poets Society, earning a pair of Academy Award nominations for his performances in Boyhood and Training Day. But he’s appeared on the small screen recently as well, starring as famed abolitionist John Brown in the Showtime limited series The Good Lord Bird and playing cult leader Arthur Harrow in the Disney+ Marvel series Moon Knight.
