At the very least, it’ll give us all something to look forward to as we fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
ESCAPE Cameron Highlands will be different from any other national theme park as the nature-based adventure park is built within the natural landscape. It’s a joint project by Sim Leisure Group and Hektar Muda Sdn Bhd and will feature a European-themed atmosphere, synergising with Cameron Highland’s European heritage and its cooler, temperate climate.
The theme park will also be powered entirely by renewable energy, making it environmentally friendly, which is in line with the government’s agenda to boost Malaysian eco-tourism.
Daredevils who are hell-bent on finding a new activity to test their nerve can look forward to the FIRST dry ski slope in Malaysia, with a 1.2-kilometre slope and a 920-metre high ski lift. ESCAPE Gravity Play slides and attractions are presented in all new and fascinating way against the gorgeous Cameron Highlands hillsides.
Street bowling, chasing after the cheese, and other European pastimes will be introduced in keeping with the European theme. It goes without saying that there will be popular F&B vendors and glamping lodgings on-site.
ESCAPE Cameron Highlands will be opened in three phases over the next two years. If work begins at the end of this year, phase one will take 15 to 18 months. When the theme park opens, it’s expected to be in the first half of 2023. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will follow, and new attractions will be added in each phase additionally.
There are two ESCAPE Theme Parks in Malaysia: one in Penang and the other in Petaling Jaya’s Paradigm Mall. Here’s a fun fact for you. Did you know the ESCAPE Theme Park in Penang holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest water slide?
