Erra Fazira wants parents to set aside ego when it comes to child's custody

2 Feb - Erra Fazira recently stressed the importance of divorced parents to work together for the sake of their children.

The actress, who is no stranger to such experience when it comes to the custody of her daughter Engku Aleesya with ex-husband Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin, stated that former husband and wife have to set aside their ego and prioritise the children's well-being instead.

"One of the two has to relent when it comes to custody so not to stress the child out," she said.

This, she said, in response to several custody cases involving celebrity parents that have been going on for the past several months.

As for her own previous custody situation, Erra said that she was raised by a single mother, which is why she wanted her daughter to always have her father in her life, as well as equal love from both her and Engku Emran.

As for the many divorce cases, the actress said, "Not everything should be public's knowledge. People don't have to know the issues on social media."

Prior to Engku Emran, of which the marriage ended after seven years together, Erra was married to former KRU member Yusry Abdul Halim.
