Ernie Zakri won't be able to perform her own song on Anugerah Juara Lagu

10 Jan – With her pregnancy in its final trimester, Ernie Zakri recently confirmed that she will not be performing her song, "Boneka" at the upcoming 36th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL).

The singer, who won Best Vocal at last year's AJL for her performance of "Gundah", stated that she is currently looking for another singer to sing the song, composed by Omar K, Firdaus Rahmat and Iqie Hugh.

"I've yet to discuss with Rocketfuel Entertainment about the replacement, since we don't even know when AJL will be held just yet. But logically, I won't be able to perform on stage as I will be giving birth next month," she said.

Ernie stated that while she is saddened by the fact that she couldn't perform herself, she hopes that the next singer will be able to bring justice to the song.

Many have suggested several worthy choices, including her own husband, her popular aunt Ziana Zain, and her even more popular uncle Anuar Zain.

The singer, who tied the knot with duet partner Syamel in March last year, announced her pregnancy in September. Her husband later made a slip that they are welcoming a daughter.
