Erin Napier Mourns Daughter 'Losing Her Babyness' as She Wears Her Unicorn Costume for the Last Time
The HGTV star is mom to daughters Mae and Helen
Erin Napier's daughter is growing up — and the mom of two is having some complicated feelings about it.
On Friday, June 7, the HGTV star, 38, shared a photo on her Instagram of her 3-year-old daughter Mae as she wore a teal unicorn costume for the "last time." In the sweet photo, the toddler can be seen wearing the fuzzy costume with the hood up, posing in a bathroom.
In her caption, Napier took a moment to reflect on how her daughter is getting older, sharing how she knew it was the final hurrah for the costume.
"I saw a 'last time' and knew it: the passed down 2T unicorn costume they loved that I got at Dirt Cheap for $3 was worn for the last time this week," the mom of two wrote. "It’s comforting to capture it, for some reason. 🙂 We’re losing her babyness but getting real, sweet, thoughtful conversations in exchange."

Erin's husband Ben chimed in from the comments, writing that they were having "the best conversations" with their daughter.
The couple is parents to daughters Mae and Helen, 6.
Earlier this week, Erin and Ben celebrated their daughter Mae as she turned three.
The HGTV Home Town co-hosts rocked around a mini Christmas tree to celebrate their younger daughter Mae’s third birthday with a Christmas-themed party. Erin shared a few photos from the function on her Instagram, featuring Mae’s birthday cake and Ben dressed up as Santa standing beside his daughter.
“Our tiny baby is THREE and all she wanted was a Christmas party, so we made Christmas cookies and lit Christmas candles, brought a little potted tree with ornaments on the porch and grilled hot dogs, blew up a waterslide in the yard and listened to Bing Crosby 🌞🎄🎅🏻 #maeday,” Erin captioned the photos.
On Mother's Day this year, Ben shared a carousel of photos on his Instagram, which featured his two daughters as they gave mom Erin a bear hug. Wearing a fuzzy coat, Erin smiled as her daughters climbed all over her, heads turned away from the camera.
"#HappyMamasDay to our favorite. The only one I’d do this with," Ben wrote in his caption.
