Hundreds of thousands of Entergy customers were without power in Louisiana and Texas in the wake of Hurricane Laura on August 27 and 28. Updating on the evening of August 27, the company said 256,000 customers were still without power.
Entergy said it was dedicating thousands of staff to returning power, but that it had also begun periodic outages in Texas. “The damage from Hurricane Laura caused significant damage to the transmission system in both Texas and Louisiana that moves power around the region,” the company said.
