Endangered baby monkey born at Australian zoo

Video taken on March 30 shows the little one clinging to mother Meli and observing his surroundings, as he spends time with the troop.

As with all baby Francois' langur monkeys, Manchu, which means "pure" in a local Chinese dialect, was born with distinctive orange fur, the zoo said in an email statement. This is in contrast to his mother and the troop that are black in colouring.

According to Primate Supervisor Mel Shipway baby François' langur monkeys develop quite quickly and Manchu has already been witnessed attempting to move independently from mother and climbing.
