Emmerdale star Danny Miller has revealed his doubly happy news: not only is he engaged to girlfriend Steph Jones, they're also expecting a miracle baby.

The actor proposed to midwife Jones in January on holiday in St Lucia, but a month later they had another reason to celebrate as they found out Jones was pregnant just as they were about to start IVF.

Speaking to OK! magazine, the couple said they had been told they would probably never have children naturally and were days away from beginning IVF when they got the surprise news.

Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, remembered the moment Jones called to tell him she was pregnant: "We were filming the barn explosion storyline. When I saw how many times she had rang me I had a feeling. I thought, either she’s pregnant or something serious is going on.

"The next take was long but then luckily they turned the cameras off and I said to the first assistant I was going to make a call. I rang Steph and she was laughing but crying and I just knew.

"With us being with the IVF consultant the day before, I was in complete shock. I started crying. It’s making me emotional to think about it now."

The couple have only been together for two years, but first met at primary school so have known each other for most of their lives.

Revealing that they would love to have a big family of three or four children, the happy couple said that they would be postponing their wedding until their child was able to walk so that they could be a part of the ceremony.

Looking back at the night they got engaged on holiday in St Lucia, Jones admitted that she had thought Miller might have a urine infection because he was so nervous about proposing that he went to the toilet seven times during dinner.

Miller added that he "paid a fortune for the meal and I couldn’t even eat it because I was that nervous".
