The Cannes Film Festival is officially underway, which means the movies that are sure to generate awards season buzz are making headlines, and the red carpet fashion is out in full force alongside the films. Case in point: Emma Stone, who just walked the red carpet for her new movie, Kinds Of Kindness. In keeping with her new go-to style, her latest gown included a deep, plunging neckline, echoing many of the Louis Vuitton creations that she wore as she collected award after award for Poor Things.

The latest dress (also Louis Vuitton, which is just one perk that comes with Stone being a longtime ambassador for the storied French fashion label) included a low neckline combined with allover sequins in a deep, blood red and featured a delicate, sheer-panel back that added an airy, breezy detail. The full skirt ended in a thick ruffle that cascaded around her on the red carpet. She finished her look with minimal makeup that emphasized her brows and a soft, glossy pink lip color. She wore her red hair parted in the middle and styled it in subtle waves.

Kinds of Kindness reunites Stone with Yorgos Lanthimos. The two worked together on The Favourite and Poor Things, which earned Stone a slew of awards this past year, including her second Academy Award. The film is competing for Cannes's Palme d'Or this year and is up against Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis, Paul Schrader's Oh, Canada, and Ali Abbasi's The Apprentice.

In an interview with The Guardian, Lanthimos explained that the film is different from his period pieces with Stone. Fans of his movie The Lobster will probably appreciate the cerebral premise of his latest release.

“It’s a contemporary film set in the U.S.," he said. "Three different stories, with four or five actors who play one part in each story, so they all play three different parts. It was almost like making three films, really."

The official logline explains it this way: "Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader."

The film also stars Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley from Poor Things, as well as Joe Alwyn, Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
