Emma Roberts Reveals She Cried When This Famous Actress Picked Up Her Son Rhodes, 3, on Set

The actress also shared that her son is starting to pick up on some things about her job as an actress, including her changing hairstyles

Emma Roberts is getting candid about an emotional moment she had when one of her costars picked up her son Rhodes for the first time.

The American Horror Story star, 33, shared during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, July 9 that her 3-year-old son still does not understand her job as an actress — nor the gravity of his interactions with other legendary actors.

“He definitely didn’t understand [my job] when he came to [the] set [of Maybe I Do] and Diane Keaton picked him up, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. I have tears in my eyes more than the day you were born,’ ” Roberts told guest host Kathryn Hahn.

When Hahn asked if she took “pictures” to commemorate the special moment, the actress admitted that she didn’t because she “was trying to enjoy the moment.”

“Big mistake. Huge,” Roberts added as the audience laughed. “Whenever I’m like, ‘I’m being present.’ I’m like, ‘I should’ve taken a picture.’ Why was I being present? Take a photo.”

While she noted that those things may go over her son’s head, there were other things that he did pick up on — including the different hairstyles that come with her various movie roles.

“He understands when my hair looks different and he says, ‘Take it off.’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t take it off right now. At the end of the day I can, but not right now,’ ” Roberts said with a laugh.

“And I’m scared when I get a job [and] if I have to dye my hair another color… And [I] can’t take it off,” she added with a laugh.

Hahn responded that their job “must be really weird” for a “kid,” to which Roberts agreed, saying, “I mean when you think about it, that’s weird. Your mom comes home and is like, ‘Hi, it’s me,’ and you have [a] different hair color. That’s a little strange."

However, she added that Rhodes, whom she shares with ex Garret Hedlund, was happy to reap the benefits from her acting jobs, including getting free “snacks” on her film sets.

The actress previously revealed in April that her toddler experienced Disneyland for the first time. She shared a photo with her son in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle on Instagram. In the shot, Roberts could be seen sitting on a bench with her arm around her son, who looked out over the moat.

"The only thing that could make the most magical place on earth more magical? seeing it with your son for the first time 🌟 @disneyland 🩵 @disneyparks 📸," Roberts captioned the photo.

She also shared a glimpse into their magical day on her Instagram Stories, showing her and her little boy walking around the park together and going on a few rides.
